In October the UCSB men’s soccer club was bumping along with a ho-hum 7-6 record. On Oct. 18 they beat UC Davis 1-0 at home and took off on a 12-1-1 run.

Their final victory, over UCLA on Sunday in the NCAA championship match in St. Louis, brought home the program’s first national crown.
